Oahu Holistic Medicine
Much of what we ”know” about ”health” is is based on predatory marketing, half-truths, creative statistics, straight-up lies and propaganda. My name is David Santander, I’m a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and I own and operate a modest Naturopathic and Acupuncture/Chinese Medicine Clinic in the middle of the pacific (its on land). We’ve all heard horror stories of negligence, gaslighting and dangerous practices in the medical field. This audio companion is meant to be a guide or a litmus test, that can help you seek good advice, run away from dangerous advice, and know the difference. It seems like today more and more people go to the doctor and hear ”there is nothing we can do” or some ”there is this experimental treatment you could try, but its not yet FDA approved” What am I supposed to eat? Which herbs, supplements or vitamins should I be taking? There is so much noise, it’s hard to know what to listen to. In a world where your attention is being bought and sold, it’s hard to keep our minds free of clutter, and marketing based ”facts.” The internet is littered with conflicting information, and lots of information, about health especially, that is wrong, made up, or both. If this has ever had your head reeling and wondering what to do, you’re probably in the right place. OHMAC is meant to be antidote to mis- and dis-information in medicine - a no-nonsense educational guide to getting healthy for the first time, again, or taking already great health to the next level. **This is in no way shape or form medical advice, consult a doctor that you trust before enacting any of the methods and theories put fourth in this audio project. Please swim at your own risk. Information is subject to change as new discoveries are made and human understanding grows. My scope of practice is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and my partner, Dr. Jennifer Goto, specializes in Naturopathic Medicine and the information we seek to share is within our scope of practice as outlined by the definitions and allowances put forward by the States of Hawaii, Connecticut and New York.**

18. How Literal Should I Take A Diet
Monday Mar 25, 2024
Monday Mar 25, 2024
This Podcast is about the benefits and drawbacks of following diets very strictly. I talk about my personal experience with trying different diets, like the blood type diet and keto diet, and how sticking rigidly to a diet for a period of time can help determine which foods agree with you. I recommend following a diet strictly at first, for maybe a few weeks or months, to get clear feedback on how your body responds. Overall, I see diets as a means to an end rather than a permanent solution.

Monday Mar 25, 2024
Monday Mar 25, 2024
This podcast is about reframing the discussion around exercise. I talk about how exercise is a confusing term, and that it's not just about going to the gym or doing certain activities. The key is doing enough repetitive movement over time to create lasting physiological and mental changes in your body. The emphasis that exercise is relative and means different things to different people based on their baseline activity levels.
